Our relationship with the dairy industry has been a long and varied one. We have gained extensive experience working with some of the UK ’s largest dairy businesses.
One particular relationship is with Eden Vale who was taken over by Uniq Prepared Foods in May 2004. We have worked closely with the Production Engineers at their Minsterley site focusing on improvements in production within their cottage cheese plant.
Eden Vale was one of the first businesses within the UK to benefit from Shrinkwrap Machinery’s unique tray loading systems. Phil Bailey from Eden Vale comments; “the tray loading systems reduced our overheads by £80k per year. We are delighted by the machinery and also by the back up and service the team at Shrinkwrap have provided over the years.”
Shrink-wrapping is a preferred method of packaging within the dairy industry today. When the ASW range of machinery is coupled with our Palletisers and Tray Loading machines we really can deliver the total packaging solution to dairy operations.
We have worked within the dairy industry for many years, with great success. We have machines installed at over 20 dairy plants in the UK and as a result of an expansion in our export market we have worked extensively with Saudi Arabia’s largest dairy group where we have installed an amazing 45 machines into 26 different production lines to cope with the increasing demand of dairy produce within the country.
We are just
on the brink of installing a Streampack Tray Loader
Machine into a dairy in Kuwait. This machine has been
tailor-made to their individual specifications and is
due to be shipped out in July 2004. This has been a
further exciting breakthrough into the export market
for Shrinkwrap Machinery Ltd. |

Shrinkwrap
Machinery Ltd. has machines in many of the egg production
plants in the UK. Deans Foods and Stonegate Eggs are
the market leaders in the egg production industry and
both companies benefit from the ASW MH range of machinery
at their premises throughout the United Kingdom.
The
ASW Moving Head machine is ruggedly built from welded
steel box sections with CNC machined components. Access
to the machine for essential maintenance and cleaning
is via safety interlocked doors. Incorporated within
this design is our unique 2 belt sealing system with
a canted and moving jaw to produce a tight pack.
Peter Jones, Deans Foods Engineering Manager comments
“The fact we have worked with Shrinkwrap Machinery’s
equipment for over 30 years now indicates how much trust
we place in this company to deliver the best possible
product for our needs. Our eggs are packed into large
display boxes for use on supermarket shelves; we shrink-wrap
these large boxes to maintain their integrity during
transit to their final destination. This retains their
hygienic and clean condition which is clearly of high
importance to us and the consumer.
The team at Shrinkwrap has always tried their best to
assist us in improving production and indeed this has
resulted in a significant production increase across
our 8 sites where we have their machinery installed,
and an overall efficiency improvement as packing operatives
were redeployed to other needy areas of the factory.”
Shrink-wrapping is ideally suited to the egg production
industry as their packaging solution due to its lightweight
and durable nature. Our long relationship with this
industry and its needs has resulted in an improvement
in our own production time. We know what works well
and what our customers want and can translate the success
of the previous machines into improving future machines.

Shrink-wrapping has provided the commercial laundry business with an ideal solution to the distribution of clean linen. A Shrink-wrapping machine installed at the end of cleaning and ironing lines means that clean sheets and towels can be wrapped, stored and dispatched to their customer in a most efficient and clean way. This also benefits the end users, usually hotels and restaurants, as they also have a neat and effective way of storing their linen on site without degrading the quality of the clean.
Shrinkwrap Machinery Ltd have their ASW-LR range of machines installed at Sunlight, Initial Services and Brooks & Fishers commercial laundries throughout the UK. Smaller privately owned businesses have also made use of Shrinkwrap Machinery Ltd's long history with this industry.

When Homelux Nenplas, the makers of Swish curtain tracks, contacted Shrinkwrap Machinery Ltd requesting a machine to wrap their extruded plastic product, the team wasted no time in creating the plans and drawings for what would be a new concept machine for the long established business.
Steve Donaghue, Factory Manager at their Ashbourne production site said; "previously our curtain tracks were bagged, manually loaded and shrunk on a machine which operated at a rate of only 5 meters per minute and took up a space of over 22 meters which included 12 meters of conveyor.
Our requirements were two fold. Firstly we needed to reduce our overheads on this line by redeploying labour elsewhere and secondly increase our production in line with the increasing demand.
Shrinkwrap's machine provided the solution to both issues. We worked closely with Jeremy Frith from Shrinkwrap on all stages of the design process. His input coupled with our knowledge of our product was invaluable in delivering the end result.
We now have an efficient machine which wraps 18 meters of product per minute, in a 16 meter space resulting in a 260% production increase on our previous output."
The equipment supplied was an Automatic Flow Wrapper with a static under seal operation, coupled with in-feed and out-feed conveyors. The Flow Wrapper has pinch rollers throughout to control the feed in, out and positioning of the tracks.
